Peperomia Caperata Raspberry Ripple, shade house plant or terrarium plant

Item Description

Peperomia caperata Raspberry Ripple has heavily puckered, heart shaped leaves which adorn this beautiful, easy houseplant. The entire plant is of a deep raspberry colour with some silver highlights on the leaves. Compact, dense growth topped with spikes of small, densely set, white flowers in summer (currently July) which are long lasting. I also have other Peperomia caperata plants with similar leaves and differing coloration, one called "Silver Ripple" (which can be seen here

and one called "Chocolate Ripple".

This Brazilian native needs moist, well drained soil/compost in partial shade or filtered light. It will tolerate dry soil to some degree, but not permanently wet roots. It will require a minimum of 60F Fertilize once a month with your favorite plant food. Can also be grown in a terrarium.

These plants are currently growing in 3" pots, similar to the one pictured, which must be sent protected bareroot in moist sphagnum moss (i.e. not in the pot/soil it is in presently) to comply with various State regulations. Plants are sent by Priority mail on Mondays/Tuesdays, occasionally Wednesdays for locations close to VT. to more readily ensure delivery before weekend.
