More Recycled Silk Sari Scarves in the store!

This week I'm stocking up my store with more of these wonderful used Silk Saris (some are vintage Saris) that have been recycled and repurposed into handmade scarves of all kinds. I'm always impressed with the designs and colors of these Saris, they're so different from commercially available fabrics. The Saris come from various parts of India, as places specialize in different types of designs/embroidery, like the batiks of NW India and the Zari gold embroidery that decorates the edges which is a specialty in Southern India.

Using recycled silk Saris to make scarves and other items

I first started making scarves, other accessories and skirts from recycling Indian Silk Saris in 2012. I attended weekly Farmers' Markets throughout the year from 2012 to 2015  with these and many other products that I make. I still make these items currently but have shifted to selling more online, as this gives me more time to do everything else that I do day to day with our plant nursery and property management.
